Rhoda Evelyn Martsolf, 95, of Locust Street, Mishawaka, Ind., died at 11:55 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, in Hospice House. She was born in Burrows, Ind., on July 9, 1907, and was a lifelong area resident. Rhoda Evelyn worked for 30 years at Woolworth's and Karlin Drug Store in Mishawaka. Among her hobbies were reading and sewing. She was still sewing quilts until two months ago.

 

She married Kenneth E. Martsolf in Logansport, Ind., on July 28, 1934. He died April 10, 1993. Mrs. Martsolf was also preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Elizabeth A. (Cates) Lowe; two sons, Rolland and Richard Marshall; two sisters, Goldie Peters and Ocie Rohrabaugh; and by two brothers, Paul and Lee Lowe. She is survived by two daughters, Joan (Clyde) Melton of Mishawaka and Jean (Chuck) Raes of Mishawaka; five sons, Donald (Jean) Marshall of South Bend, Ind., Jack (Betty) Martsolf of South Bend, Robert (Fran) Martsolf of Arizona, Larry (Ellen) Martsolf of Oklahoma and Steven (Margaret) Martsolf of Arizona; 20 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jean Kingery of Flora, Ind., and Helen Watts of Logansport, Ind.; and by two daughters-in-law, Florence Marshall of Arizona and Ruth Marshall of Mishawaka.

 

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Thursday, with Rev. Kenneth Mendenhall officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Ind.
