BARBARA JEAN MARVIN

11/29/1927  - 03/13/1985

 

    BARBARA JEAN MARVIN, 57, of 5203 Prescott Ave., died at 10:55 a.m. Wednesday in Osteopathic Hospital, of natural causes.  She was a former clerk with the St. Joseph County Recorder's Office.

    Born November 29, 1927, in Kent County, Michigan, she lived in the South Bend area most of her life, coming from Cascade, Michigan.

    On April 02, 1944, in South Bend, as BARBARA BEEBE, she married PAUL MARVIN.

He survives along with a daughter, SHARON WILTROUT of South Bend, two sons, PAUL MICHAEL of Oaktown, Ind. and ERNEST DALE of Grand Haven, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; her mother, EUGENIA GWILT, of Niles; and four sisters, MILDRED BYBEE and PATRICIA WOODCOX, both of South Bend, LAURA DENNIS of Grand Junction, Colorado and MARJORIE CARTER of Hannibal, Mo.  She was preceded in death by a sister, IOLENE NELSON, and a brother, LAWRENCE BEEBE.

    Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Welsheimer North Chapel, 52803 U.S. 33N.

Burial will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. Rev. JOHN STAPLES, of Community Congregational Church, officiating.  Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.  She was a member of Community Congregational Church, served as a [precinct committeewoman of the Eighth Precinct, and was a member of the Circle D'Amis Chapter of the American Businesswomen's Association, the Merry-Go-Round Club and the Roving Hillbillies Camping Club.
