Mario Marzotto

Mario Marzotto, 81, of West 14th Street in Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after a brief illness at 8:50 a.m. on Sunday, June 15, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Ind. Mario was born on Nov. 30, 1915, in the Montebello province of Venice, Italy, to Giovanni and Eugenia (Biasin) Marzotto, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by a brother, George Marzotto in 1991.

 

On Feb. 21, 1942, in Chicago, Ill., he married the former Ida Romani, who survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Sharon Henderson of Mishawaka and Gayla Papachristou of Richfield, Conn.; five grandchildren, Kim Cave, Karri Mickels, and Karen Mickels of Mishawaka, Kellee Etter of South Bend and Brent Stehmer of New York City, N.Y.; seven step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and by a sister, Diana Tarabori of Darien, Ill.

 

Mario retired in 1984 after 42 years with Bendix/Allied Signal. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the De Amicis Club, B. K. Club, Goodfellows Club and the Mishawaka Moose Lodge. He was a 1935 Mishawaka High School graduate.

 

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. today in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka, where a Rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. Services will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka, with Fr. Robert A. Yast officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Northern Indiana Chapter, Jefferson Medical Arts Building, 919 E. Jefferson Blvd., No. 1, South Bend, IN 46617; or to the American Heart Association.
