SOUTH BEND - Ervin L. Mast, 68, passed away after a
courageous battle with cancer on Feb. 18 in his home. Born July
19, 1939, in LaGrange, IN, he was the son of the late Levi M. and
Nettie W. (Miler) Mast. Also preceding him in death was a
sister, Irene Mast in 1964.
On Dec. 26, 1997, Ervin married Debra (Murphy)
Mast. She survives in South Bend. Also surviving are a daughter,
Sheila Mast of LaGrange; sons, Shelby (Tracy) Mast of Nappanee
and Scott (Mary) Mast of LaPorte; sisters, Freda Yoder of
Goshen, Wilma Yoder of Middlebury and Pollyanna (Joe) Whetstone
of Topeka; brothers, Mervin (Fennie) Mast of Dalton, WI, and
Christy (Frieda) Mast of Topeka; and grandchildren, Amber,
Sierra, Landen, Colten, Dayten, Eric, Cossandra and Alex Mast.
Ervin worked at Olinger Distributing Company for 23 years.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Thursday, with services immediately following at the McGann Hay,
University Chapel, 2313 E. Edison Road, South Bend. Memorial
contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
