MISHAWAKA - Mary M. Mast, 72, of Linden Avenue, died at 8:30 p.m. Saturday in Lakeland (Fla.) Regional Medical Center after an illness. Mrs. Mast was employed by St. Joseph Hospital as a nurse's aide for five years, Elkhart General Hospital for two years, Mishawaka School City as a cafeteria worker, and was a school crossing guard. She was born June 14, 1921, in Mishawaka and was a lifelong area resident.

On Nov. 27, 1943, in Mishawaka, as Mary M. Lavechio, she married Elmer U. Mast. He survives with a daughter, Sandy Imus of Osceola; a son, Frank J. of Elkhart; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Louis Lavechio of Mishawaka. She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 360 Auxiliary.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St. Entombment will be in Fairview Mausoleum. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
