Mrs. Matchette Victim of crash in Arizona

 

   Mrs. Mary Ellen Harter Matchette, 42, of Marana, Ariz., formerly of Mishawaka, was killed in a car-truck accident Saturday morning in Marana.
   Mrs. Matchette was dead on arrival at St. Mary's Hospital, Tucson, after she drove her car into the rear of a semi tractor and trailer in Marana.
   The semi was attempting to make a right turn off the roadway at the time of the accident. Mrs. Matchette was alone in her car and the driver of the semi was not injured.
   She was born Oct 2, 1935, in Elkhart County and moved to Arizona from Mishawaka in 1954. In July 1954, she married Rev. Ed Matchette who survives, along with three daughters, Mrs. Ellen Charles of Tucson, Miss Carol and Miss Victoria Matchette, both at home; a son, Edward at home; a grandchild; four sisters, Mrs Geraldine O' Bryant of South Bend, Mrs. Patricia Kinder of Mishawaka, Mrs. Phyllis Matchette of League City, Tex., and Mrs. Jane Hamilton of Mishawaka; three brothers, Donald Harter of San Diego, Calif. Dale Harter of Mishawaka, and Burrey Harter of Osceola; and her mother, Mrs. Evelyn Harter of Mishawaka.
   The funeral will be Wednesday morning in Tucson, with burial in Tucson. The Mission Mortuary, Tucson, is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Missionary Fellowship, 11858 N. 25th Ave., Phoenix, Ariz. 85029.
