Lawrence A. Mayerfeld, 86, born in South Bend, Ind., on March 18, 1916, died in Tucson, Ariz., on Wednesday, April 3, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Helen; sons, Robert (Dale) and Bruce; a daughter, Barbara; grandson, Daniel; granddaughter, Sarah (Mike); and by a great-granddaughter, Emily.

He was a graduate of Central High School, and was the former owner of Newman's, a ladies' specialty store in South Bend.
