Geraldine McCann

Geraldine McCann, 72, of Cedar Street, Mishawaka, Ind., died in her residence at 7:26 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20. She was born in Hillsboro, Ind. on May 13, 1926 and lived there until moving to Mishawaka in 1962 from Attica, Ind. She worked for Radio Materials Corp. in Attica and retired from Janco in Mishawaka in 1989. Geraldine was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post #161.

 

As Geraldine Black she married Raymond McCann on Sept. 17, 1942 in Attica. He died on March 2, 1980. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Mitchel and Martha (Berry) Black. Geraldine is survived by five daughters, Beverly Bowers of South Bend, Patty Taylor of Mishawaka, Shirley White of Waterloo, Ala., Carolyn Williams of South Bend and Sharon Pietrzak of Mishawaka; three sisters, Frances Winski of Mishawaka, Mary Gee of West Lebanon, Ind., and Evelyn Brandenburg of Mishawaka; a brother, Bill Black of Virginia; and by 18 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren.

 

There will be no visitation. Following cremation, graveside services and burial will take place at a later date in Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
