Bonnie O. Buck McClane

April 19, 1908 - July 23, 2006

 

Bonnie O. Buck-McClane, 98, residing in South Bend, passed away at 5:10 a.m. Sunday, July 23, 2006, in Country side Place of Mishawaka.

She was born April 19, 1908, in Morenci, Michigan, the daughter of John and Hannah (Bahlman) Marshall, and resided in South Bend most of her life.

On March 19, 1927, in South Bend, as Bonnie Marshall, she married Russell Buck. He passed away on March 3, 1959. Then on October 1, 1976, in South Bend, she married Curtis McClane. He preceded her in death on January 27, 1989. She was also proceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Tompkins; a son, Thomas Buck; two stepdaughters, Marjorie Gronning and Beverly Grant; a grandson Brian Mountjoy; a great-granson, Anthony Buck; and by two sisters and two brothers.

Mrs. McClane is survived by two daughters, Carol (Will) Tisdale of South Bend and Marilyn Mountjoy of Warrenton, VA; and a son, Ronald (Sandra) Buck of Osceloa. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, Dottie (Lee) Ewing, Beverly (Tom) Bridges, Linda Mountjoy, Gary (Janet) Mountjoy, Rick (Teresa) Mountjoy, Marlene (Kent) Spidel, Julie Tompkins, Mike (Nancy) Tompkins, Karen (Mike) Brambert, Marcia (John) Tordi, Jim Tisdale, Lee (Donna) Buck, Russ Buck, Kim (Randy) Roach, Aaron (Angie) Buck and James Buck. She is also survived by 30 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. McClane was a member of Maple Grove United MEthodist Church for more than 60 years. She was proud to have made baby quilts for most of her family and for the Country Store at the church.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 27, in Maple Grove United Methodist Church, South Bend. Rev. Michael Jenkins, pastor, will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery. The family will recieve friends from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend, and one hour prior to services Thursday in the church.

Contributions in memory of Bonnie Buck-McClane will be made to Maple Grove United Methodist Church, 22019 New Road, South Bend, IN 46614.
