SOUTH BEND - Services for Neil Alexander
''Alex'' McCord, 9, of East Ewing Street, who died at 9:15 a.m.
Friday as a result of a drowning at Gray Lake, north of
Edwardsburg, will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Welsheimer Funeral Home,
521 N. William St. Cremation will take place. Friends may call
from 2 to 6 p.m. today in the funeral home. Memorial
contributions may be made to St. Matthews School.
Alex was born March 8, 1986, in Muncie,
Ind., and has lived in this area for seven years, coming from
Muncie. Surviving are his mother, Mary Fahey Smith of South Bend;
his father, John W. McCord of Muncie; maternal grandparents,
Chauncey and Joan Fahey of South Bend; paternal grandparents,
Raymond and Marilyn McCord of Muncie; and maternal
great-grandmother, Genevieve Kohler of Cleveland. He was a
student at St. Matthews School and a member of Cub Scout Pack No.
2, South Side Little League and Chippewa Bowl Youth League.
