Mae Eliza McCoy

Mrs. Mae Eliza McCoy, 75, of 712 N. Cleveland, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 4:10 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 9, in Memorial Hospital, after an illness. Mae was born on May 29, 1921, in West Helena, Ark., to the union of Lizza (Taylor) and Percy Overstreet.

 

In 1950 she was united in wedlock to Clyde McCoy, Sr., in Shelby, Miss. She leaves to cherish her loving memory two daughters, Pearl Lloyd and Lillie LIttlejohn; four sons, Johnny Reed, Clyde McCoy, Jr., and Anthony McCoy, all of South Bend, and Fred McCoy of Kalamazoo, Mich.; 20 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Elizabeth Crudup of Compton, Calif., Ruth Ella Dent and Maesola Smith, both of Cleveland, Miss; and a brother, Percy Overstreet, Jr., of Gunnison, Miss. One brother, Willlie Overstreet, preceded her in death in 1985; and a son, James McCoy, preceded her in death in 1989.

 

Services will be held at noon on Monday, Jan. 13, at Alford's Mortuary, with burial following at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services.
