SOUTH BEND - Geraldine McCray, 83, of
Cottage Grove Avenue, died at 6:35 p.m. Friday in Memorial
Hospital after an illness. Mrs. McCray retired in 1974 from
Robertson's Department Store. She was born July 31, 1912, in
South Bend and was a lifelong area resident.
On Oct. 25, 1930, in South Bend, as
Geraldine Gerard, she married Galen O. McCray. He survives
with two daughters, Cynthia Kendall of Buchanan and Karla Lawton
of Hancock, Mich.; two sons, Robert G. of South Bend and Richard
L. of Elburn, Ill.; 15 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. McCray was a member of St. Paul Memorial United Methodist
Church, the Ladies Auxiliary of Turners, and Order of Eastern
Star, Chapter 2.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in
Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William. Burial will be in St.
Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 1 to
5 p.m. today in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be
made to the church.
