Sister Mary Cordula McFaul CSC

The requiem mass for Sister Mary Cordula CSC, will be at 6 a.m. Friday in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto on the St. Mary’s College campus, with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery also on the campus. Friends may call at the convent parlor. She died Wednesday after a long illness.

 

Born in 1884 in Berrien County, Mich., as the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis McFaul. She was educated in Bento Harbor and entered the Sisters of the Holy Cross in 1903. She received the habit in 1904 and made her final profession of vows in 1906.She received a masters degree in music from the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago. During her community life she taught for many years at St. Angel’s Academy, Morris, Ill., and from 1922 to 1949 taught music at St. Mary’s Academy and St. Mary’s College. In 1949 she was assigned to St. Mary’s Convent where she resided until illness forced her retirement.
