Deloris L. McGovern

July 7, 1935 - March 14, 1998

Deloris L. McGovern, 62, of Martin Lane, South Bend, IN. died on Saturday morning after a sudden illness.

Mrs. McGovern was born in South Bend on July 7, 1935 to John & Phelena (Dennis) Straka who preceded her in death. In South Bend on Sept. 7, 1957 as the former Deloris L. Straka she married Robert P. McGovern who survives. A graduate of Central Catholic High School Mrs. McGovern was a lifelong area resident. She and her husband owned and operated the Dee's Bed-n-Breakfast in their home in South Bend. 

Survivors include a daughter, Kellie and her fiance, Brad Whitlow of Scottsdale, AZ; Four sons, Mike (Kimberly) of Raleigh, NC. Tom (Sally) and Tim (Melinda) of South Bend, IN. and Kevin (Patty) of Pickerington, OH; Seven grandchildren, John, Collin, Troy, Mike, and Nicholas McGovern all of South Bend, and Adam and Tyler McGovern of Pickerington, OH. Also surviving Mrs. McGovern is her sister, Peggy Singleton of Cooper City, FL. and her brother, Mike Straka of Champaign, IL. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday with Wake Services at 6:00 p.m. in the Hickey Funeral Homes, 17131 Cleveland Road South Bend, Indiana.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Little Flower Catholic Church where she was a member. Entombment will follow in Saint Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Indiana.

Memorials may be made in behalf of Mrs. McGovern to the Little Flower Catholic Church.
