Patricia Marie McIntire

Patricia Marie (Cooke) McIntire, 68, of Old Lantern Trail, Granger, Ind., formerly of Morton and Pekin, Ill., died following a lengthy illness at 4:25 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend, Ind. Mrs. McIntire was born June 14, 1936, in Pekin, to the late Gerald W. and Flora M. (Spence) Cooke and had lived in the South Bend area since 1975.

 

On Sept. 29, 1957, in Morton, as Patricia Marie Cooke, she married Ralph A. McIntire, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Jill M. McIntire of Carmel, Ind., and Kimbery M. (Derek) Thompson of South Bend; three sons, Ralph A. (Patricia) McIntire Jr. of South Bend, Gerald L. (Beth) McIntire of Noblesville, Ind., and Patrick A. McIntire of Granger; and seven grandchildren, Alexandra L., Jake W., Chloe E., Nicholas W. and Micam A. McIntire, and Benjamin P. and Joshua A. Thompson.

 

Pat was a registered nurse and was employed primarily at Methodist Hospital in Peoria, Ill. She was very involved with the American Cancer Society, was a former troop leader for the Girl Scouts of America, and a soccer coach with MSA.

 

Private family funeral services will be held in the chapel of St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Entombment will follow. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 9445 Delegates Row, Indianapolis, IN 46240-3805. Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road, South Bend, is handling arrangements.
