Lillian May McIntyre

Lillian May McIntyre of Spring Hill, Fla., formerly of South Bend and Mishawaka, Ind., passed away on Monday, Feb. 24, after a brief illness. Lillian was born in Goshen, Ind., on Dec. 25, 1919, to Guy and Goldie (Dorrier) Alwine.

 

On April 7, 1956, she married Alexander McIntyre, who resides in Spring Hill. Their son, Malcolm, his wife, Akie, and their two children, Miki and Sean, live in Hebron, Ky. Lillian devoted much of her life to her family, and will long be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandma. Lillian was happiest when she was with her family.

 

Other survivors include sisters, Martha Moore of South Bend, Esther Shapland of Edwardsburg, Mich., and Thelma Manuel of Douglasville, Ga.; and brothers, Kenneth (Carroll) Alwine of South Bend and James (Lorraine) Alwine of Mishawaka. Lillian has 13 nieces and nephews, and several great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers, Richard Alwine of Mishawaka and Carl Alwine of Tucson, Ariz.

 

Lillian graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1938 and was a member of the Mishawaka High Alumni Association. She enriched the lives many people, including her close friends in Spring Hill. Lillian enjoyed life, was kind to everyone she met, and will be missed by her family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 1, in the Brewer & Son Funeral Home in Spring Hill.
