SOUTH BEND -Rosemary McIntyre, 80, residing in South Bend, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 19, 2008 in her home surrounded by her family. She was born January 31, 1928 in Wabash, Indiana, the daughter of Robert & Maggie C. Keesey Reed, and has been a lifelong resident of this community. On October 16, 1948 in Mishawaka, IN as Rosemary Reed, she was united in marriage to Walter Lee McIntyre. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last month with a party at their son's home. Rosemary was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Timely Topics Circle, and was a Auxiliary member and volunteer at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend. She was employed for seventeen years as Office Manager for Gibson Auto Parts, and retired in 1990. She is survived by her loving husband Walt, her daughter, Vickie L. McIntyre of Indianapolis, and her two sons, Kevin R. McIntyre of Bremen, and Kirk A. McIntyre of South Bend. A sister, Nancy (Dr. Robert) Sriver of Granger, and two brothers, Dr. Robert (Barbara) Reed of Mishawaka, and Thomas (Marie) Crissler of Texas survives Rosemary as well. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Barbara Wallace Manges. "When you were born you cried, and the world rejoiced... Live your life so... When you die, the world cries and you rejoice." Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, November 24, at Grace United Methodist Church, 3012 So. Twyckenham Drive, South Bend. Rev. David Schrader, pastor will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend, and one hour prior to services Monday at the Church. Contributions in memory of Rosemary McIntyre may be offered to Grace United Methodist Church, or the Center for Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc., 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637, or River Bend Cancer Services, 919 E. Jefferson Blvd., South Bend, IN 46617.
