William J. McIntyre

Aug. 28, 1923 - March 21, 1999

William J. McIntyre, 75, residing on Ruthie Avenue, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 10:10 p.m. on Sunday, March 21, in the Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. McIntyre was born on Aug. 28, 1923, in South Bend, to the late William J. and Sarah Mable (Harbison) McIntyre, and had lived in South Bend all of his life. He retired as office manager of the McIntyre & Jones Construction Company. Mr. McIntyre served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

On Dec. 9, 1966, in South Bend, he married Joyce Freeman, who survives.

He is also survived by a daughter, Robin Barrett of Suwanee, Ga.; a stepdaughter, Christine of Georgia; and three stepsons, Kent, Curt and David, all of Georgia; 12 grandchildren and a great-grandson; and by a brother and his wife, Kenneth (Dorothy) McIntyre of South Bend.

Services for Mr. McIntyre will be at 1 p.m. today in the Chapel of St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind. Rev. Ed. Erskin of the Northway Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will follow. There will be no visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Funeral arrangements are being made by the Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend.
