Sister Mary Wilfredan CSC, 75, died at 4:30 a.m. today in Saint Mary’s Convent. She was born Helena Marie McKeon in Tarrs, Pa. in 1890, and was educated in Scottsdale, Pa. After her graduation from high school  she attended St. Mary’s College here. She entered the Sisters of the Holy Cross in 1913, receiving the habit the same year. She made her profess of vows in 1916. She was graduated from St. Mary’s College and received her master of arts degree from the University of Notre Dame. She was assigned to St. Mary’s faculty from 1915 to 1929, and also taught in Austin and Marshall, Texas; Alexandria, Va.; Ocean View, Va.; Riverside, N.J; Brookline, Mass.; and St. Cecilia’s and St. Patrick’s Academies in Washington DC. She was on the faculty of St. Patrick’s until her recent illness.

 

A requiem high mass will be offered in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto at St. Mary’s at 6 a.m. Monday, with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus. Friends may call in the convent parlor.
