Stephanie E. McKiel

September 21, 1897 – March 17, 1993

Stephanie E. McKiel, 95, of West Colfax Avenue, died at 7am Wednesday in St Joseph’s Medical Center.

Mrs. McKiel was born September 21, 1897, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident.  In 1918, in South Bend, she married Joseph McKiel.  He died in 1942.  She is survived by a daughter, Lee M. Panther of Mount Claire Hills CA; and a granddaughter, Cynthia L. McKiel of London, England.  A son, Leon, died in 1977.  She was a member of St Stephen’s Catholic Church.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.  Burial will be in St Joseph Cemetery.  St Joseph Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  Memorial contributions may be made to St Joseph Health Center, in care of Sister Maura Baumick, 305 S Chapin St., South Bend IN 46601 or to the church.
