Larry Doby McKinstry Sr.

SOUTH BEND - Larry Doby McKinstry Sr., 39, of 212 Scott St., died Sunday of a gunshot wound while working at Sibley Foundry. Mr. McKinstry was employed at Sibley's as a security officer. He was born July 25, 1956, in South Bend.

 

He is survived by two daughters, Aileea N. Johnson and Kimberly Kimble, both of South Bend; a son, Larry D. Jr. of South Bend; his parents, Mary Walker and Sam McKinstry, both of South Bend; two sisters, Geneva McKinstry of South Bend and Juanita McKinstry of Indianapolis; seven brothers, Harry, Johnny E. and Ray C. McKinstry, all of South Bend, Bobby and David McKinstry, both of Eutaw, Ala., Michael McKinstry of San Francisco, and Sam Reed of Guam; two stepsisters, Diane Freeland of South Bend and Margaret War of Alton, Ill.; and a maternal grandfather, Walter McKinstry of Springfield, Mass. He was a member of Believer's Church of God in Christ.

 

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Alford's Mortuary.
