Rev. James McManus CSC, age 59, retired mathematics professor and former rector of Walsh and Corby halls at the University of Notre Dame, died at 7:30 o’clock Sunday morning in the community infirmary of the Congregation of Holy Cross at Notre Dame. He was born in Carrabaun, Ireland, July 7, 1877. He received his cassock at St. Joseph novitiate at Notre Dame March 19, 1902, and on the same day two years later made his religious profession. His ordination to the priesthood, followed Aug. 2, 1906. Surviving is a sister Miss Margaret McManus, New York City.

 

The funeral will be held at 8 o’clock Tuesday morning from Sacred Heat Church on the campus Burial will be in the Community Cemetery at Notre Dame.
