James W. McMillan, 76, of 805 Emerson, died at 4:35 p.m. Sunday in St. Joseph’s Medical Center following an extended illness. 

He was a retired accountant with the federal government. 

He was born Sept. 2, 1906, in Alexandria, Ind., and had lived in South Bend since 1943, coming from Washington, D.C. 

He married Frances Guymon in Kendallville, Ind.  She survives along with a daughter, Miss Patricia Ann McMillan of DeKalb, Ill. 

The Welsheimer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (nf)
