Mary Evalyn McMillan

Mishawaka - A resident of Mishawaka most of her life, Mrs. Mary Evalyn McMillan, aged 85, died at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday in the home of Mrs. Gertrude Stevens, of Culver, Ind.  Mrs. McMillan made her home with her son, James H. McMillan, 1115 East Third street.  She had been ill for two weeks and death was caused by pneumonia. 

 

Mrs. McMillan was born March 27, 1857, in Paw Paw, Mich., and came here from that city at the age of nine.

 

As Miss Mary Evalyn Lee she married James McMillan in 1874.  He died April 16, 1916.  Surviving are three sons, Lee, James and Glenn D. McMillan, of Mishawaka; two half-brothers, John Lee, of San Francisco, Calif., and Harry Lee, of Los Angeles, Calif., 11 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

 

Friends may call at Sprague chapel from tonight until the funeral services which will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel.  Rev. J. Arthur Haley, will officiate and burial will be in City cemetery.
