William P. McMillan

William P. (Bill) McMillan, 69, of South Bend, IN was born on August 20, 1927 in Covina, California to Kenneth McMillan and Ruth Boothe McMillan. He passed away at 9:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 17, 1997 at his home after an extended illness. On June 7, 1969 in Pasadena, California, Bill married Shirley Gall. She survives, along with one son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Cathie McMillan and two granddaughters, Ashlie and Chelsea McMillan, all of Vandalia, Michigan; one brother, Richard, of Walnut Creek, California; two sisters, Gloria Stobbe of Granada Hills, California and Ruth Gliever of San Jose, California. One brother, Stanley, preceded in death in 1983.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 20, 1997 at the Gospel Center Missionary Church, 930 30th Street, South Bend, Indiana. There will be no visitation or burial. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Gospel Center Missionary Church or to the Navigators, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Hollis-Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. McMillan was retired from Hughes Aircraft, El Segundo, California and McDonnel Douglas, Santa Monica, California. He was honorably discharged as a veteran of the United States Navy and the United States Naval Reserves. Bill was a lifelong Christian, having received Christ as his Savior in his youth. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of West Los Angeles and the Gospel Center Missionary Church of South Bend.
