Sister M. Mercia CSC, 73, died Tuesday in Saint Mary’s Convent. She was born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, in September 1870, as Emma McMullen. Of the 36 years she spent in the convent, she was a member for six years of the provincial council of the midwest province. She was an accountant at St. Mary’s College for a number of years.

The funeral will be Thursday morning in the convent chapel with burial in the community cemetery.
