Adeline A. McPike, 79, of U.S. 20, South Bend, Ind., passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 27, in LaGrange Memorial Hospital, LaGrange, Ill. Adeline was born on Oct. 25, 1922, in South Bend, to the late Edward and Agnes Jaronik. She was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, South Bend, and was a member of the Golden Cluster at St. Hedwig Catholic Church. Adeline is survived by a daughter, Beverly (Walter) Banasiak of Willow Springs, Ill.; a son, Craig McPike of Mishawaka, Ind.; four grandchildren, Mike Banasiak of Willow Springs, Melissa (Andy) Knebelsberger of Phoenix, Ariz., Sean McPike and Kaitlin McPike, both of Mishawaka; a great-granddaughter, Abigal Knebelsberger of Phoenix; and by two sisters, Geraldine Cyman of Anderson, Ind., and Delores Buettner of Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Loretta Hostetler; and by a brother, Dan Jaronik.

 

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a vigil service will be held at 3:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, South Bend, with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
