James F. Meixel

James F. Meixel, 65, of 1001 N. Ironwood, died about 6 p.m. Tuesday in his home after a sudden illness. He was born Nov. 14, 1917, in South Bend, and remained a lifelong resident of the area. He had retired from Factory Tile, Inc. in 1979.

 

On Sept. 1, 1937, in South Bend, he married the former Pauline A. Guerra, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Patricia) Schrandt of Palos Verdes, Calif.; a son, John P. of Torrance, Calif.; five grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Howard (Kathryn) Bunnell of Houston, Tex., and Mrs. Lee (Virginia) Fagan of South Bend; and a brother, Phil E. of South Bend. He was a member of St. Anthony de Pauda Catholic Church, the Mishawaka Good Fellows and the DeAmicis Club in Mishawaka.

 

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Hahn’s DeVos Funeral Chapel, Mishawaka.  Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Anthony Catholic Church. Rev. Robert Yast, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in Highland Cemetery.
