Joyce H. Mendenhall

Joyce H. Mendenhall, 86, of Jeanwood Drive, Elkhart, passed away following a long illness at 1:15 a.m. Monday in the East Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Elkhart.

She was born August 19, 1920, in Kansas. In November 1942, as Joyce H. Wood, she married David J. Mendenhall in South Bend. He died February 27, 2006.

Mrs. Mendenhall was retired from the Uniroyal Corp. as a supervisor. She was a member of the American Legions of both Mishawaka and North Webster, Indiana.

She is survived by her children, Richard (Pamela) Mendenhall of Elkhart and Diane McMillen of California. Also surviving are four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, along with a sister, Joan Wilcox of Mishawaka.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mendenhall will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 4th, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka, where friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the services at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow the services at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the American Legion, P.O. Box 131, North Webster, IN 46555.
