SOUTH BEND - Katherine M. ''Kay''
Meredith, 76, of Hollyhock Road, died at 10:55 a.m. Saturday
in her home. Mrs. Meredith retired as the owner of Kay's Beauty
Shop in 1966. She was born Nov. 16, 1917, in Rockford, Ill., and
moved to South Bend 26 years ago from Argos.
On June 3, 1939, in Rockford, as Katherine Boggie,
she married Richard C. Meredith. He survives with two sons, Tony
of Lansing and Ted of South Bend; six grandchildren; and a
sister, Margaret DeGroff of Loves Park, Ill. She was a
past member of Argos Order of Eastern Star.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in
Welsheimer Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road. Burial will
be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos. Friends may call from 2 to 4
and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Memorial
contributions may be made to any charity.
