NEW CARLISLE - Marjorie E. Merrill,
77, of Michigan Street, died Sunday in her home after an illness.
Mrs. Merrill was a former employee of the New Carlisle-Olive
Township Library and also worked at the LaPorte County
Courthouse. She was born Aug. 28, 1917, in Noble Township.
On Jan. 15, 1943, in St. Louis, as Marjorie
E. Werner, she married Charles F. Merrill. He died March
4, 1987. She is survived by a son, Jay of New Carlisle; a sister,
Evelyn Mohlke of Union Mills; and a brother, Jack Werner
of Union Mills. She was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church,
Union Mills.
Services will be at 2 p.m. (EST) Thursday in
Wesleyan Church. Burial will be in Union Mills Cemetery. Friends
may call from 6 to 8 p.m. (CST) Wednesday in Weaver Funeral Home,
Union Mills, and one hour before services on Thursday in the
church.
