Starlet E. Scott Merriweather


Oct. 22, 1951 - Mar. 21, 2010 SOUTH BEND - Ms. Starlet Euphine Scott Merriweather, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter and sister, who resided on Scarlett Maple Court, South Bend, Indiana, passed away at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 21, 2010 at her residence following an illness. Starlet was born to the union of William and Josephine (Williamson) Scott, Sr., on October 22, 1951 in South Bend, Indiana. She worked many years for the Holy Cross House and Century Center. She was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, where she served in the Sanctuary Choir. Her hobbies included shopping and spending time with family. Starlet was preceded in death by her father, William Scott, Sr., one half sister, Shirley R. Cooper and a brother in law, Clifford Kilgore. Survivors left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Ernestine Merriweather of Duluth, Georgia and Josephine Merriweather, two sons, William Dean (Pamela) Merriweather, Jr., Amir (Kimberly) Merriweather, her mother, Josephine Scott all of South Bend, 11 grandchildren, Michael, Kimiko, Starlet, Tony, Jayla, Shamir, Reverend William Dean, III; Brandy, Myla, Amir, Jr., Jamyla and two great grandchildren, six sisters, Gwendolyn Scott, Sandra (Kenny) Freeman, Ernestine (Ronnie) Ligon, Phyllis Scott and Minister Annesia Scott all of South Bend, Annette (Clarence) Hardiman of San Jose, California, three half sisters, Beverly Kilgore of Indianapolis, Indiana, Dora (Garland) Castleberry and Myra (James) Davis both of South Bend, three brothers, William (Mary) Scott, Jr., of Flint, Michigan, Anthony (Elizabeth Ann) Scott, Sr., and Maurice (JoAnn) Scott, Sr., both of South Bend, Indiana, one half brother, Randolph (April) Scott of Basehore, Kansas, four godchildren, Ingrid Burton of Detroit, Michigan and Dayonae Lenoir, Angela Weatherspoon and Maurice Caldwell all of South Bend along with a host of other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to any 1st Source Bank in memory of Starlet E. Scott Merriweather. Funeral services for Ms. Starlet E. Scott Merriweather will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will occur from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church.
