Edgar C. Mestach

July 5, 1916 - Sept. 3, 2002

GOSHEN — Edgar C. Mestach, 86, of 147 The Willows, Goshen, Ind., died at 3:35 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, in Elkhart General Hospital. He was formerly of 12451 Pierce Road, Wakarusa, Ind.

He was born on July 5, 1916, in Mishawaka, Ind., to Rene and Ethel (Coil) Mestach, and married Pauline Benn on Jan., 21, 1938, in Elkhart, Ind.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Ron Mestach of Elkhart and Tim (Brenda) Mestach of New Paris, Ind.; a sister, Vera (William) Hosler of Mishawaka; and by six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Irene Johnson and Thelma Baert; and by two brothers, Sylvester "Bucky" and Robert Mestach.

Mr. Mestach was employed at Bendix for 39 years, retiring in 1980 as a lab tech. He was a member of Bethel Missionary Church. At Mishawaka High School, he was a football player and a track star in the 1930s.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, in the Rieth, Rohrer, Ehret, Lienhart Funeral Home, Wakarusa, and one hour prior to the 10 a.m. services in Bethel Missionary Church. The Rev. Jim Smith will officiate. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Ind.
