April 26, 1921 - June 14, 2000

DONALDSON — Mildred K. Meszaros, 79, a resident of the Maria Center, 9601 Union Road, Donaldson, for the past two years, coming from Canton, Ohio, died, following a recent illness, at 10:44 a.m. in St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center, Plymouth, on Wednesday, June 14, 2000.

She was born on April 26, 1921, in Mishawaka, Ind., the daughter of Dewey M. and Rosalie C. Bauert Bobson. She was a 1939 graduate of Mishawaka High School.

On May 19, 1945, in St. Monica's Roman Catholic Church, Mishawaka, Ind., Mildred and Stephen Meszaros were married.

A mother and homemaker, she was an avid reader and letter writer. She was a member of the AARP in Canton, Ohio. Despite the fact that her daughters reside in the East, due to her husbands transfers, Mildred and Stephen retired back home in Indiana at the Motherhouse of the PHJC Sisters they so cherished.

Also in Canton, Mildred was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She was an associate of the Ministry Center of the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ (PHJC), Donaldson.

Mildred is survived by Stephen, her husband of fifty-five years, and four daughters. They are: Mary Christine and Michael LaMark, Margaret Rosanne and Thomas Melle, all of Pittsburgh, Penn., Marie Therese and Norbert Burleson, Bolivar, Ohio, and Marilyn Jane and Richard Ackerman, Durham, Conn. Ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Mary Furore, and a brother, Thomas Bobson.

Visitation will be in the Ministry Center of PHJC, Donaldson, today, June 16, 2000, from 4 to 8 p.m.

The Rev. Father Edward Konerman of the PHJC will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial in the Ministry Center on Saturday, June 17, 2000, at 9 a.m.

Burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka, following special graveside services at 11:30 a.m. at the cemetery mausoleum.

Memorials in Mildred's memory may be made to the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ.

Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, Plymouth, is in charge of the arrangements.
