Leo Albert Michels

Jan. 14, 1879 – Sept. 6, 1968

Mishawaka - Leo A. Michels, 89, of 509 W. 8th St., died at 4 p.m. Friday in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, following and illness of one week. 

 

A former employee of the Dodge Manufacturing Corp. where he had worked for 30 years.

 

Mr. Michels was born in Mishawaka on Jan. 14, 1879 and lived here all his life.  On Sept. 1, 1921, he married Mrs. Elsie Radomski and she died in 1955. 

 

Surviving are one son, John F. Michels of Mishawaka; one stepson, Paul J. Radomski, also of Mishawaka; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Rose Neiter of South Bend. 

 

Friends may call in the De Vos Funeral Chapel after 10 a.m. Sunday and until the time of services at 9 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph’s Church.  Very Rev. Curt A. Suelzer, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. 

 

The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral chapel.

Funeral services for Leo A. Michels, 89, of 509 W. 8th St., will be at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s Church with Very Rev. Msgr. Curt A. Suelzer, pastor, officiating. 

 

Mr. Michels died Friday afternoon in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, following a brief illness. 

 

Friends may call after 10 a.m. today in the De Vos Funeral Home and until the time of the service. 

 

The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today in the funeral home. 

 

Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

 

Editor: He was previously married in 1904 to Mary Annetta “Nettie” Brown who died in 1920.
