SOUTH BEND - Mary Pavich Miko, 89, of Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation Center, died at 1 p.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Hospital, Mishawaka. Mrs. Miko was employed for more than 20 years by Blue Ribbon Pie Store.

She was born April 29, 1906, in Cleveland and lived in South Bend most of her life. On Feb. 6, 1926, in South Bend, as Mary Berta, she married John Pavich. He died Sept. 28, 1938. On Jan. 29, 1944, in South Bend, she married Emery Miko. He died May 8, 1994. She is survived by three daughters, Helen Grzegorek and Eva Kasznia, both of South Bend, and Margaret Nivens of Lake Worth, Fla.; two sons, Joe Pavich of Mishawaka and John Miko of Texas; 20 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Matilda Kurdys and Louise Berry, both of South Bend; and a brother, Louis Berta of South Bend. Two sons preceded her in death. John Pavich Jr. died in 1986, and Joe Miko died in 1991. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church.

Services were at 11 a.m. today in Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 1201 S. Michigan St. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
