WILLIAMSBURG - Marie J. Miller, 91, of Williamsburg, died
Tuesday at Northwoods Village Care Home. Born Feb. 8, 1908, in
Belgium, she was the daughter of Arthur and Sophie Verslype.
In 1935, in Mishawaka, Ind., she married
Carlton J. Miller. Marie was a homemaker. She belonged to
Academia Club, National Council of Catholic Women, Saint Mary's
Womens Club. She enjoyed cards, painting and all types of arts
and crafts. Marie loved to travel. Survivors include a son,
Carlton J. Miller Jr.; two grandchildren, Meagan M. Miller and
Joshua C. Miller of Williamsburg; a brother, Desire Verslype of
Mishawaka; a sister, Margaret DeWulf of Mishawaka; and
many nieces and nephews. Marie was preceded in death by her
husband, Carlton; parents; and brother, Henry Verslype of
Mishawaka.
Friends may visit from 3 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m. today at
Elk Rapids Chapel of Covell Funeral Homes. A funeral Mass will be
celebrated at 2 p.m. Friday at Christ the King Catholic Church in
Acme; Father Edwin Thome will officiate. Burial will be in Grand
Traverse Memorial Gardens in Traverse City. Memorial
contributions may be directed to Christ the King Catholic Church
in Acme.
