Sister M. Colombiere CSC, 90, of Saint Mary’s Convent, died there at 2:50 p.m. Thursday after a lengthy illness. She was born on Jan. 14, 1892, in Nebraska City, Neb., as Elizabeth K. Miller, and entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross at St. Mary’s on July 2, 1919, coming from Nebraska City. On Jan. 6, 1920 she was received as a novice, and made her profession of vows on Aug. 15, 1922. She was assigned as a teacher in California secondary school throughout her community life. From 1961 to 1970 she served as councilor for the Western Province, after which she resided at St. Catherine’s Convent in Ventura, Calif. She was transferred to St. Mary’s Convent in 1974 because of failing health. She is survived by a sister.

 

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto at St. Mary’s with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery. Friends may call at the convent parlors, where a wake service will be held at 7 p.m. today.
