Robert L. Miltenberger

November 20, 1918 - November 18, 1992

 

Robert Lee Miltenberger, 73, of Parkview Place, was dead at 5:30pm Wednesday at St Joseph's Medical Center from an apparent heart attack in his home.  Mrs. Miltenberger retired in 1986 from the US Postal Service, where he was employed for 23 years

 

He was born November 20, 1918, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident.  On October 23, 1944, in South Bend, he married Virginia Sharafinski.  She died January 5, 1974.

 

On November 18, 1977, in South Bend, he married Esther (Slomski) Wesolowski.  She survives with a daughter, Patricia Oiler of Osceola; two sons, John of Pompano Beach FL and Dean of South Bend; two step daughters, Sharon Rajski of Niles and Patricia Smogor of South Bend; five grandchildren; and a great grandson.

 

He was an Army veteran of WW II.  He was a member of the Bowlers Country Club, Fraternal Order of Eagles 2083 of Mishawaka, Schuyler Colfax Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3194, American Legion Pulaski Post 357, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 6, South Bend Moose Lodge 58 and ZB Falcons Bowling League Nest 80.

 

Services will be at 11am Saturday in Kaniewski & Sons Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.  Friends may call from 2 to 9pm Friday in the funeral home.
