Nov. 29, 1914 - Jan. 25, 1996   SOUTH BEND - Services for Charles Modory, 81, of Ford Street, who died of natural causes, at 9:05 p.m. Thursday in San Antonio, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Memorial Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Highland, Cemetery. Friends may call from 2  to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Welsheimer Funeral Home,  521 S. William St. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
 
Mr. Modory worked for South Bend Lathe as a machinist for 20 years and retired from South Bend Parks Department. He was born Nov. 29, 1914, in Indiana Harbor, Ind. On May 8, 1937, in South Bend, he married Helen Keresztury. She survives with a daughter, Janice Enlow of San Antonio; two grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a sister, Ethel Hesler of South Bend. He was a member of HRFA Insurance, Masonic Lodge 45 and Avalon Grotto.
