Oct. 3, 1915 - Feb. 11, 2010SOUTH BEND - Former South Bend resident Helen K. Modory, 94, of San Antonio, TX died at 9:05 a.m. Thursday, February 11, 2010 in her residence at Pipestone Place, San Antonio. Mrs. Modory was born October 3, 1915 in South Bend to the late Mary (Lorincz) and Charles Keresztury and had lived in South Bend her entire life until moving to San Antonio in 2002. On May 8, 1937 in South Bend as Helen Keresztury, she married Charles Modory who preceded her in death January 25, 1996. She was also preceded in death by her five brothers, Charles, Andrew, John, William and Joseph Kerestury and three sisters, Mary Keresztury, Elizabeth Vogel and Margaret Boyd. She is survived by a daughter, Janice K. (Rod) Enlow of San Antonio; two grandchildren, Kimberly (Michael) Gustafson of Weybridge Surrey, England and Shawn (Marla)Tkacz of Houston, TX, two step granddaughters, Lisa (John) Hayden and Lauren (Larry) Simpson both of San Antonio, TX; and seven great-grandchildren, Hannah and Joshua Gustafson, Jordan and Kendal Tkacz, Emily and Amanda Monsen and Kailey Hayden as well as several nieces and nephews. She was a lifetime member of Memorial Presbyterian Church and was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter #2 for over 75 Years. Helen was an honorary member of the TX Preceptor Phi Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority. This very loving and giving lady (Nana) will be greatly missed by her family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 22nd in Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1836 Portage Ave. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.
