Morris W. Moffett

March 7, 1905September 5, 1969

 

Morris S. Moffett, 64, of 1213 S 32nd St., died at 11:45am Friday in St Joseph’s Hospital after six month illness.  He retired after thirty-four years at the Northern Indiana Transit Co.  Born on March 7, 1905, in Danville IL, he had lived in South Bend for forty years.

 

On April 15, 1934, in South Bend, he married Erma Collins, who survives.  Also surviving are two sons, Robert, of South Bend and Donald, of Buffalo Grove IL; a stepson, LeRoy Collins of South Bend; two daughters, Mrs. Diane Mobilia of Mishawaka and Miss Patricia Moffett of South Bend; fourteen grandchildren; three brothers, Byron, Maxwell and William Paul, all of South Bend, and three sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Kimmey of Long Island NY, Mrs. Sara Wallace and Mrs. Betty Harder, both of South Bend.

 

Friends may call from 7 to 9pm today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm Sunday in the Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home.  Services will be held at 1pm Monday in the funeral home, Rev. James Banks, pastor of the Sunnyside Presbyterian Church, officiating.  Burial will be in St Joseph Valley Memorial Park.  He was a member of the Amalgamated Railway Workers.
