SOUTH BEND - Genevieve M. "Jean" Molnar, 94, passed away at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2008, in St. Paul's Retirement Community. Jean was born on March 30, 1914, in South Bend, to the late Anthony and Anna (Wojcik) Wantuch.

 

On August 4, 1945, in South Bend, she married George P. Molnar, who passed away in 1976. Also preceding her in death were a great-granddaughter, Emily, and brothers, Frank, Ted and Aloysius "John." Survivors include her two daughters, Suzanne Ruszkowski and Mary Ann (Donald) Grabarek, both of South Bend; grandchildren, Debra (Kris) Notestine, Robert Ruszkowski, Jody (Ryan) Klontz, Angela (Kerry) Snyder, Barron (Jana) Grabarek and Michael Grabarek; great-grandchildren, Brock, Amanda, Patton, Donovan and Jackson; a sister, Helen Grabarek of Spring Hill, FL; and a sister-in-law, Geraldyne Wantuch of Forest City, NC. Jean was a parishioner at St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr Catholic Church, where she was involved in the Bethany Ladies, Apostleship of Prayer, the Rosary and Altar Society and Harvest House. She was a great cook and cooked at Candlelight Court. She also enjoyed spoiling her family and friends.

 

Visitation will be from 2:00 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2008, in St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr Catholic Church, with visitation one hour prior in the church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
