Sister Vincent Mary Moore CSC

Sister Vincent Mary (Mary Bernice Moore), CSC, 93, was born in Perryville, Mo., on Jan. 14, 1910, to the late Francis James Moore and Mary Bertha Tucker. She is survived by her twin sister, Mrs. Charles Hunt (Bertha); and by a niece, Barbara Hunt of Perryville.

 

Sister Vincent Mary entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross in 1929, made her first profession in 1932, and final profession Aug. 15, 1935. Her early education was done in Missouri and Utah. She attended Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame, Ind., Immaculate Heart College, Los Angeles, Calif., and graduated from Saint Mary of the Wasatch College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in education. She taught elementary grades in the schools of the Congregation in Idaho, California, Michigan, Illinois and Indiana from 1932-1974. In 1974 Sister returned to Saint Mary's where she served as sacristan in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto until 1985. Sister then worked in community service at Saint Mary's, and was active in the Ministry of Prayer until her death. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of the Holy Cross Ministry with the Poor Fund, Saint Mary's, Notre Dame, IN 46556.

 

Wake services will be at 4 p.m. today, Oct. 30, in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto, Saint Mary's, Notre Dame. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 31, in Church of Our Lady of Loretto, Saint Mary's, Notre Dame. The Kaniewski Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
