John J. Mossell

South Bend - John J. (Joe) Mossell, 70, of West Washington Street, died at 5:30 a.m. Saturday in his home, after an illness. In 1986, he retired from Preston Trucking. He was born on May 19, 1946, in Grand Rapids, he married Norma (Connie) Cole.

She survives with three daughters, Virginia Ganser of Mishawaka, Connie Jo Balint and Mary Lou Johnson, all of South Bend; two sons, Tom of Niles and Richard of South Bend; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Amanda Marchant of Harrison, Mich. Mary Grzwna of LaPorte, Margaret Mossell of Auburn, Ind., and Josephine Padgett of Central Lake, Mich.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Coker Funeral Home, Farwell, Mich. Burial will be in Gilmore Cemetery, Farwell. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Coker Funeral Home, Farwell. Bubb Funeral Chapel, Mishawaka, is in charge of local arrangements.
