Ethel G. Mostaert

Ethel G. Mostaert, 85, of Mishawaka, passed away at 8:05 p.m. Saturday, June 17, in Holy Cross Care and Rehabilitation Center, South Bend. Ethel was born on July 18, 1920, in Mishawaka.

 

In April 1944 she married Henry "Red" A. Mostaert, who preceded her in death in 1992.

Surviving Ethel are two daughters, Sharon Nagy of Mishawaka and Juliann "Julie" (David) Baker of Osceola; two grandchildren, Lori (David Jr.) Harrington of Elkhart and Jason Baker of Osceola; a sister-in-law, Jacqueline Hanei of Dallas, Texas; a brother-in-law, Albert (Maryanne) Mostaert of Bedford, IN, formerly of South Bend.

 

Ethel and Red were owner/operators of the Parkview Tavern on Jefferson during the 1970s and 1980s. Ethel was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, South Bend. She enjoyed doing her crafts; she was a very good seamstress and a great cook. Ethel took pride in all that she did, and she was an avid Notre Dame football fan.

 

The family will receive friends today, Tuesday, June 20, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be held at noon on Wednesday, June 21, in the funeral home, with Rev. Ronald Tripi officiating. Entombment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Osceola.
