Brother Adalbert Mrowca CSC, 70, of Columba Hall, University of Notre Dame, died Sunday morning in St. Joseph Medical Center, South Bend, after a lengthy illness. He was o professor of physics at Notre Dame from 1943 to 1983, specializing in polymer physics and nuclear magnetic resonance. He was a frequent contributor to many scientific journals. He was born March 1, 1913 in Chicago and he received his bachelor of science degree in 1936, master of science in 1942, and Ph.D. degree in 1944, all from the University of Notre Dame. He joined the Holy Cross Brothers at Sacred Heart Juniorate, Watertown, Wis. on Dec. 9, 1931, and made his first profession of vows on Feb. 2, 1932. His perpetual vows were made on Aug. 6, 1936, after which he taught at Vincennes Institute until 1940.

 

Friends may call from 2:30 to 7:30 Tuesday in Our Lady’s Chapel at Sacred Heart Church at Notre Dame, where a wake will be at 7:30 p.m. After the service the body will be transferred to St. Joseph Chapel at the Holy Cross Brothers Center, where friend may call after 9 a.m. Wednesday. A celebrated Mass of the Resurrection will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery on the campus of Holy Cross Junior College.
