Otto Much

Otto Much, 82, of Pinellas Park, Fla., died on Friday, March 21, 1997, at the VA Medical Center at Bay Pines.

Born in Germany, he came here in 1969 from Yorba Linda, Calif. He was plant manager for the Chrysler Corporation in Commerce, Calif., and was a former plant manager at the Plymouth Assembly Plant, Detroit, Mich.

He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving with the combat engineers from 1943 to 1946, when he transferred to the American Military Government unit in Nuremberg, Germany, to serve as a translator.

He is listed in Who's Who in the Automotive Industry. He was a member of Good Samaritan Church, Pinellas Park. He was also a member of the Utica (Mich.) Lodge 75 F&AM.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Murl L.; two daughters, Carol Lynn Dugan of Naperville, Ill., and Karen Sue Witmer of Plymouth, Mich.; a son, Michael O. of Houston, Texas; a granddaughter, Meghann Witmer of Plymouth, Mich.; a sister, Alma L. Bolen (and Roy) of Osceola, Ind.; and two brothers, Alfred Much (and Marion) of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and Erv Much (and Theo) of Decatur, Mich.

Inurnment with military honors was held in Bay Pines National Cemetery on Monday, March 31, followed by memorial services at Good Samaritan Church, 6085 Park Blvd., with Dr. Harold Brokus officiating.
