MISHAWAKA - Rose S. Mueller, 85, of St. Paul's Retirement Community, formerly of 1608 Fall Creek Drive, died at 1:50 p.m. Sunday in the nursing home. Mrs. Mueller was the former owner of Fruitland Grocery Store. She was born Dec. 20, 1909, in Baroda.

On July 14, 1934, in Glendora, Mich., as Rose S. Schmaltz, she married Alvin Mueller. He survives with three daughters, Carolyn Butts of South Bend, Jane Darnell of Granger and Rosalie Holloway of Buchanan; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Sisinger of Largo, Fla. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid Society of the church.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
