Sister Mary Clement Mullana CSC

Sister Mary Clement CSC, about 60, died at St. Mary’s Convent. She had for many years been closely associated with the growth of the Assumption School in South Bend. She was one of the first instructors to assist in the establishment of the school connected with St. Joseph Church, South Bend, and by her personalty and ability as teacher of young boys aided in increasing the enrollment from for or five students to several hundred. Her worldly name was Bridget Mullana, a native of Ireland and took her final vows in 1874, at which time she immediately began her career as an instructor.

 

Funeral services will be in the chapel of the convent tomorrow at 6 a.m. Internment will be in the community cemeterty.
